Johnny Hazard - Pancho Villa Underground Railroad - May 10

May 10, 2017 - 6:30pm

Johnny Hazard presents his novel The Pancho Villa Underground Railroad on Wednesday, May 10 at Boneshaker Books. Hazard was founder of the Heathen Science Monitor and opinion columnist for the Minnesota Daily. He has published fiction or journalism in Southside Pride, The Rag Blog (Austin, Texas), Counterpunch, Z Magazine, and Pulse of the Twin Cities. He was a bicycle messenger in downtown Minneapolis before becoming a teacher in the Minneapolis Public Schools from 1992 to 2000 and is now professor of English at Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (UACM).

"A modern and even post-modern picaresque chronicle of our era, traversing the decadence of Bohemian Grove in California, the radical collectives of various U.S. Midwestern and Southwestern cities, and on down to a Mexico seething with discontent, conspiracies and revolt, all punctuated by unusual wit." --Fred Whitehead, writer and editor, Kansas City, Kansas

English: “It seems that Johnny Hazard will never lose his good humor in spite of everything…. He’s a provocateur, a spirit that parodies everyone and everything.”
